Brandywine, MD
Our Brandywine, MD facility was fully permitted and opened its gates in 2005 as the next generation replacement for the original Soil Safe facility in Baltimore, MD. This 220 acre, state of the art, recycling facility is located just southeast of Washington DC. in Prince Georges County, MD. In Brandywine, we have the benefit of having not only the largest capacity treatment facility in the eastern U.S. , but also a prime location only 15 miles from the heart of all of the redevelopment activity in and around downtown Washington, DC. Historically, the Brandywine site was an undeveloped parcel of industrial zoned property. All of our work on the site centers around the physical modification of the topography in preparation for future industrial development.
Today, the expected lifespan of the facility exceeds 6 years but has a great deal of flexibility due to the ongoing movement of our recycled product to other sites. This facility gives Soil Safe the competitive advantages of being the closest to the market, the ability to receive larger volumes of soil on a daily basis and once the material is processed, the capability to use the material onsite or store it for resale based on market needs and conditions. The end use of the site will consist of a large industrial pad site within 15 minutes of downtown Washington DC.
